Rickey Huckaby

Player development coach. 8-year pro. Founder of StringTeam. Rickey built his game in Houston, played professionally across three continents, and now develops players at every level, from grade school hoopers to NBA veterans and Chinese national team starters.

Since 2019 he has served as Assistant Coach and Player Development Coach for the Guangzhou Loong Lions of the CBA, working under the former head coach of the Chinese national team.

Founded in Houston, StringTeam Basketball Training Academy specializes in individual player development at every level, grade school through professional. Ball handling, shooting, footwork, conditioning, athleticism, scoring, and confidence, built through individualized work and real reps.

The Playing Career

8 Years As A Pro

Before the coaching, the work. Rickey played professionally from 2007 to 2015 across Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Hungary, Syria and Mexico, with Summer League first-team honors in Las Vegas and Geneva and training camps with the Milwaukee Bucks and the Rockets' RGV Vipers.

Texas Roots

Texas Player of the Year and All-State in high school. Lee Junior College, then Texas A&M-Kingsville, where he earned All-LSC honors and a Business Management degree.

Overseas Pro

Kuwait league semifinals and All-Golden Four. League leading scorer. A 45-point record game against the top team. First-team honors in Syria and Romania.

NBA Camps

Milwaukee Bucks training camp 2008-09 and the Rockets NBDL Vipers camp under head coach Chris Finch. EuroBasket Summer League Vegas first team.
